I waited far too long to post my Blogger Appreciation Award post, so I’m going to just combine the two awards I’ve been nominated for in one post! Both were nominated by Mel of Mel in Anime Land. She’s a good blogger friend of mine, even before she joined OWLS, she was super supportive of me, and she’s just a super cool person! Thank you so much for both of these nominations! These are fun posts to do aside from my normal ones, even though it’s taken me so long to get through this one.
I can already tell this will be a much different award post than any of the ones I’ve been nominated for previously.
- Thank the blogger who nominated you, and link back to their site (Already did that)
- Write a paragraph of something positive about yourself. (I kind of went off on tangents so it’s more like two.
- Nominate and notify as many bloggers as you wish
- Use the award image (Also done)
About me, I guess
So… this is hard. I’m very critical on myself. I always have been. That should have been fairly clear in my recent 100th post, where I looked at and basically tore apart my older posts. But, sometimes I can see my talents for what they are.
I guess my critical nature can be considered good when I regulate it. If I’m too harsh about it I shut down, and that’s no good. But something I am good at is keeping myself busy with projects. I always have multiple writing projects going, and currently I have multiple cosplay projects as well. So far, I’ll be making Todoroki Shouto from My Hero Academia and Chise Hatori from The Ancient Magus’ Bride, though I’m also thinking of doing one from Bungo Stray Dogs…even if I’m only 5 episodes into that show!
Along with that I have school and soon I’ll have work, so I don’t feel like I’m always wasting my time. Not that I don’t do that, but it helps me to know I have something to do to keep productive. I can’t stand wasting time, though I do it far too often! I have this blog to post on twice a week, three fanfics, a book that I really need to write and edit, and my two (possibly three) cosplays and my friend’s one cosplay, and then three college classes. And clearly since I do all these things I must have some level of skill to do them. I’ve always been proud of my writing skills, which was why I made this blog: it combined my love of writing and anime into one place. And then I started reading some fanfics and became inspired to write my own. And then I have my original story, but I haven’t touched it in months due to fanfic writing.
Bottom line, I’m proud of the talents I have, and how I’ve been able to improve them over time.
- Thank the person who nominated me for this
- Answer the question that has been mentioned in the post
- Post question for my nominees to answer
- Nominate users for the Sunshine Blogger Award
I’ve already thanked Mel, though I can always do it again! Thank you for this second award!
We all dream of what we want to do. What we want to be. There are some crazy dreams (like meeting up with aliens or saving the world like Superman) which we know will never happen but still dream about a lot. Then there are those realistic dreams, like being a writer or doctor or anything which is “sensible.” I want to know what your “crazy” dream and your “sensible” dreams are.
Hmm…well in terms of crazy dreams, the only ones I can think of are having certain superpowers. I don’t mean powers that could necessarily be used for the greater good, I mean ones that will make my life way easier.
I hate driving with a passion, though I haven’t even had my license for a year yet (in May, I will have). I want to be able to teleport any place I’ve already been. So I could be to school and home and work in an instant. I can do whatever I want until the last second, and always be on time! It’d be great to teleport to unvisited places as well, but part of the fun of going someplace far away is seeing everything leading up to it.
I also wish I never had to sleep. I wish I could just constantly be charged up and ready to go. I just always have such an awful schedule: I open up my phone at maybe 10 pm to do something to relax, but then I fall down a hole of videos or fanart or fanfics and then all of a sudden it’s 2 am and I have school the next day. I’ve been trying to get better at this, but it’d be great if that problem was erased completely.
For realistic dreams: I want to travel, and write for a living.
Places I’ve been dying to travel to are Athens, Greece; Rome, Italy; (I’ve always loved learning about mythology) Russia (I love the architecture), Ireland (old castles!!), Germany (I’m taking German now and it’d be cool to see where the language comes from) and of course, Japan.
Japan has never been at the top of my list, surprising or not. It’d be cool to see where my favorite entertainment comes from, and maybe visit some of those anime-themed cafes and museums, but nature is more my forte when it comes to travelling. I went on a little tour of Michigan (where I’ve lived my whole life) with my family over the summer, and the highlight was this gorgeous stretch of rocks called the “Pictured Rocks,” though I also loved walking to the higher elevations of Mackinac Island to look over the lake and see all of the island and its buildings. If I went to Japan, I’d stick to the shrines and castles!
I took these pictures, the first one is Mackinac Island, and the other three are the Pictured Rocks as seen from a tour boat.
When it comes to writing, I’ve dreamed of being a well-known author since I was in the fifth-grade, when I was about eleven. Seven years later, and that’d still be one of the best things I could think could happen to me! But even if I can’t do that, any sort of enjoyable writing that I get paid for would be a dream come true. Right now, I’m only hoping to get a teaching degree to teach English, where I can still write and read for a job, but it’s not exactly my ideal.
I honestly almost posted this without adding my own question!!
Anyway, my big question for you who I’ve nominated is:
What other hobbies do you have besides blogging, and watching/reading for your blog? Like how mine is writing other writing projects and cosplay, what else do you do for fun? Do you create other things, or is this where all of your creativity comes out?
Anyone I’m nominating can respond to both, one, or neither, whatever you want to do! This was the easiest way for me, and it’s not the first time I’ve nominated people for two awards at once.
